Mighty To Save
Isaiah 63:1
1Who is this who comes from Edom,
in crimsoned garments from Bozrah,
he who is splendid in his apparel,
marching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.”
The last few days I’ve heard the song “Mighty To Save” every single time I’ve turned on the Radio. We’ve even played it at my home church during our sunday morning worship hour. I think it’s powerful mostly because this song gets straight to the point.
We could spend days/months/years debating theology but the fundamental point of Christianity is that Christ came to live the life we couldn’t live, bear the pain and suffering we couldn’t handle, and die the death we should have died, so that we could have everlasting life in Him and have it abundantly.
Theology and all the awesome cool points about Jesus are there to help those of us that know Christ, get to know Him better. Yet, the important first step is to go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20).
The song Mighty to save is an amazing song and what I learned from my friend Ben who speaks Hebrew is that Jesus (from the greek) or Joshua (from the Hebrew) means “salvation” or one who comes in the name of Yahweh (he who causes to be). Jewish people do not recognize the name Yahshua as a name unless you clarify “Yahshua the person.” So it’s interesting to sing this song with the words “Savior, he can move the mountains” because it’s actually using the name of Christ [savior].
Anyway, here are the lyrics to meditate on and just take in, for those that happen to read this.
God bless you all and I’d love to pray for you if you have anything at all you’d love to share with the body.
“Mighty To Save” -Hillsong United
Everyone needs compassion
A love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever
Author of Salvation
He rose & conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears & failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender (I surrender)
Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever
Author of Salvation
He rose & conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
Shine Your light &
Let the whole world see
We’re singing
For the glory
Of the risen King
Jesus
You’re the Savior
You can move the mountains
Lord You are mighty to save
You are mighty to save
Forever
Author of Salvation
You rose & conquered the grave
Yes You conquered the grave
