Authenticity

γνησιότητας (gnisiotita)

There are many definitions of Authenticity that relate to being genuine and reliable. Yet I found it best described as:

“The process of ensuring that a message received is the same message that was sent and has not been tampered with or altered.”

Matthew 5:17-18  (Amplified Bible)

“17 Do not think that I have come to do away with or undo the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them.

18For truly I tell you, until the sky and earth pass away and perish, not one smallest letter nor one little hook [identifying certain Hebrew letters] will pass from the Law until all things [it foreshadows] are accomplished.”

Christ is the authentic expression of God’s fulfillment of love for each of us. Christ came to establish His kingdom and fulfill the laws set before us by God the father so that He [Christ] could make sure that the Word of God was not tampered with but made genuine in becoming the full embodiment of love.

[Gnisiotita] is not an easy word to swallow. It encompasses so much and has pervaded my life these past few months.

God.Father.Son.Holy Spirit.

These are the only being(s) that have never and will never change. We always change, yet it’s God who surprises us.

In the last year I have served as one of the sound tech guys for the building my church attends, and recently encountered several passionate hearts seeking to change. These hearts desired to pull away from “playing church,” and the business man has turned it into, to move into roles that the Joshua Generation has been longing for. The youth will lead. Youth do not fear man as others have been taught to fear. We do not have the life experience to claim the wisdom of our elders but we have the passion to fuel that wisdom and to act on what God would have of us.

We are restless. Restless to serve. Restless for the kingdom that is at hand.

I had the opportunity to have lunch with my senior pastor and the youth worship leader over the last few months and am now blessed to be part of a new worship team that will be part of the catalyst in engaging the hearts of our congregation to actively seek Christ, and not just raise hands or sit in a sanctuary because they have to…but because they desire the truth so much that they can’t stand to be away from where the Holy Spirit moves.

God created us to be in relationship with one another and with Him. We are designed to be in real relationships, with authentic hearts, sharing in the glory that God has revealed before us. Satan will attack us in our weakest points and closest relationships. Praise the God who gives, and takes away so that all might know that He is God.

That being said. I am broken and loving it. When we ask to be like Christ and when we commit to His will, we are asking to not only share in His joy but in His sufferings. My suffering rooted in a lack of trust in His will and lack of direction in my life. God was just waiting for me to throw my hands up in surrender and once that happened, everything changed.

Ryan can no longer exist. There is only Christ and His will. I will fail Him. This I know. And that is why Ryan can not be in the way of God’s will anymore. Ryan must go away and Christ must be ever present.

I am a musician that failed to use the talent that God gave me to it’s fullest extent. I moved where He asked me [running sound] so that He could teach me humility and what it means to worship…and that music is only one part of what authentic worship is. He has restored my talent and asked me once again to produce fruit with the gifts He has given me.

And even though all around me and inside my heart have changed, there is one that will never change and He is our Yahweh [he causes to be/exist] who sent His son Yahshua [he comes in the name and authority of the one who causes to be] to enter into an authentic relationship with His people.

Psalm 46

To the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of the sons of Korah, set to treble voices. A song.

1GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.    2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas,

3Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

4There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

5God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early [at the dawn of the morning].

6The nations raged, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

7The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

8Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.

9He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

10Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

11The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Seek Him with gnisiotita.

He will never fail us.

[Selah]
